Montana is known for its big sky, farmlands, and its residents’ love for the outdoors. So how about enjoying some of the Summer Sun at a local farmers’ market? There’s nothing quite like farm-fresh produce this time of year, but not all of us have the time or space for a garden.
The idea of a farmers’ market dates back over 5,000 years. Of course, each village, town or city has its own take and a special culture that makes it unique but the general factor of buying locally is deeply rooted in all farmers’ markets. There is something incredible that happens anytime you go to the town’s Farmers’ Market. It’s a great way to learn about the local farms, the type of produce that grows in the area, and you get to learn about the local residents.
Here in Bozeman, we are extremely lucky to have a community surrounded by farmland and talented residents that are artists and home good creators.
Gallatin County Farmers Market
Saturday’s 9 am to Noon
June 22 – Sept. 14, 2019
For over 40 years the Gallatin Valley Farmers Market has been providing the valley with locally made home goods and farm fresh produce. Every Saturday morning at the Gallatin County Fair Grounds local farmers, clothing designers, artists, and food vendors set up booths to sell their unique goods.
Stop by From the Heart Foods and grab a breakfast burrito, or a freshly baked scone to snack on while looking at the other booths.
Some vendors to make sure to stop by and chat with are:
Velvet Creek Soap – They are a natural soap, beard oil, and body lotion company based here in Bozeman!
2Threads Bozeman – A custom baby clothing shop that is great for buying unique gifts for babies and toddlers!
Kokoro Flowers– Locally grown flowers with beautiful floral arrangements!
